Energy Improvements
- Compact fluorescent light bulbs are used in all guestrooms & public areas
- Night set-back thermostats are in all guestrooms
- State-of-the-art HVAC Cooling tower
- High-efficiency natural gas boilers
- Lobby fountain is timed to turn off from midnight until 7am.
- Outdoor lighting is set on timers to turn off in daylight hours
- All accommodations utilize energy efficient appliances
- Employee computers are turned off when not in use
- Back-of-the-house area lights are off when no one is present
- Public area windows are tinted to reduce heat emissions
Water & Wildlife Conservation
- Guest bathrooms use low-flow toilets & showerheads and smaller sink bowls
- Linen & towel reuse program is in place for multiple-night guests
- Multiple conservation areas enable natural wildlife to thrive
Waste Minimization
- Copy machines default to double-sided printing
- Shampoos, conditioners & body wash dispensers replace individual bottles in The Spa and public shower areas
- Copy paper in back-of-the-house locations with minimum print on front are to be printed on the back or recycled for future printing
Recycling & Composting
- Use of recycled material in building of the new Water Park food and beverage area
- Use of refurbished hardware and phones for all employee stations
- Recycling receptacles are placed in all back-of-the-house areas
- Recycled paper used in all office printers (chlorine free paper)
- Used shampoo and conditioner bottles donated to a local shelter
- Older furniture, linens, curtains, dishware and bedding to a local shelter
- Consumer paper products made from recycled fibers
- Recycling of all back-of-the-house ink cartridges back to manufacturer
- Recycle old key cards and key card folders/passports and bring to recycling center
- Paper packaging of in-room amenities is recycled
- All sensitive papers are shredded and recycled
Green Meetings
- Left-over food is composted or donated to a local farm
- Condiments are served in bulk
- Individual temperature control in meeting rooms
- Extra exhibit materials are distributed to charitable organizations
- Eco-friendly materials & cleaning products are used
- We utilize double-sided printing on post-consumer recycled paper
- Banquet menus are posted on website and use of e-proposal system
Miscellaneous
- We purchase recycled products for promotional items and office supply items
- Back-of-the-house departments recycle cardboard boxes
- We provide all-natural products in The Spa
- We donate worn tennis & golf balls & equipment to charities or local shelters
- We use saline solution in swimming pools to reduce chlorine and harsh chemicals
- We use recycled materials for decking, chairs, tables and awnings at the Water Park food & beverage area.
- We use water-based latex paints versus paints with harsher chemicals
- Organic baby food is available for guests

- Reclaimed water is used to water grounds & golf courses
- Ionizers are available to guests upon request
- Recycling bins are placed throughout conference space
